2017 marks the 40th anniversary of the VHS tape and what better way to celebrate than to have the Museum of VHS bring their biggest, most exhilarating, and educational exhibit yet to the big city! The memories of perusing the isles of your local mom and pop shop will come rushing back to you as you feast your eyes on vintage video store decor, scarce promotional material, mounds of eye popping posters, standees and slicks, original paintings used to create box art and some of the rarest films to ever be committed to the medium.

Superchief Gallery in Ridgewood is proudly hosting this special one day only exhibit which will include a tape swap from 1PM to 7PM where vendors will be set up selling and trading tapes. Vending tables are available but limited, contact horrorboobs@gmail.com for more info.

Then from 7 to 10 enjoy a block of programming that will be sure to melt your brain.

7PM Saturn's Core Audio & Video presents Dave Castiglione's scarce 1994 SOV slasher epic Love Is A Stranger. Director in attendance for a Q&A.

8:30PM Mike Hunchback's Seminal Psychosis presents William Hellfire's Caress of the Vampire 2. Director in attendance for Q&A.

Entry to the days festivities are FREE so enjoy and explore the world of home video at the biggest VHS event of the year.

UPSIDEDOWN CROSS SCREENS IN BROOKLYN! HELLFIRE AND THE RUSS IN ATTENDANCE!

THIS Sunday, at 6pm, please join William Hellfire, Erin Russ, and myself for a very special screening of UPSIDEDOWN CROSS at Muchmore's in Brooklyn!

One of the great battles that seems to reoccur in my life is one of explaining to the uninitiated that exploitation films - like horror movies or comic books - can actually be works of art, addressing and attacking very real emotional territory. Bill's films that I love most - DUCK! and THE DEVIL'S BLOODY PLAYTHINGS - are great examples of this, and when he asked me to help him write the script for UPSIDEDOWN CROSS I jumped at the chance. I couldn't be more proud of the results. While UPSIDEDOWN CROSS is a crazy, shocking, upsetting ride, at its heart its a story about a mother and a daughter unable to connect with each other when they need to most.

UPSIDEDOWN CROSS' #1 fan, dangerous art authority Twiggs Gorie will be hosting a Q&A after the film!

The additional music by Miranda Taylor, Jeff Schroeck and myself only adds to it. Thanks to Heather Heather Marie Cousins for putting it all together.

TONIGHT, at Alamo Draft House Brooklyn, Cult filmmaker and all around good guy Bill Hellfire hosts one of the strangest sequels ever made. BEWARE OF THE BLOB (AKA SON OF BLOB), the sole directorial effort of Larry Hagman, is a bizarre combination of screw-around humor and drive-in opportunism that you'd be MAD to miss.

Make no mistake folks, this is THE movie about 1980s America.
